Question by : Which High performance Luxury sedan would you take between the two?????? Porsche Panamera or Infiniti R35?
For some of you who don’t know, the all new 2010 Porsche Panamera has come out into production selling for $ 89,900- $ 132,000 in the US. The Porsche has innovated a vehicle to meet the comfort of a sedan but they still managed to sculpt and create a coupe like sedan that remains to reflect its coupe DNA partner the Cayman.

The All new Infiniti High performance Sedan was speculated to Debut in 2009 as a concept and in 2010 as a production vehicle. Due to the economy the car was postponed to debut in the market of 2011. Infiniti anticipates to revive the all new 2011 Infiniti R-35 as the Flagship sedan for Infiniti which is based on the Nissan GTR but on a completely new platform that reflects Infiniti designs. Although price specs are not set in stone, though Infiniti believes the car will price within a figure of $ 87,000-$ 105,000 USD. The R35 will be designed and built to produce 420 HP- 450 HP. Its competitors include the all new Karma Fisker sedan also being introduced to the US in 2011, the Porsche Panamera, Maserati Quattroporte and the 2010 Jaguar XJ.

Any reputed Infiniti R is vaporware until some sort of production line starts; Panameras actually exist.

That said, if I were in the market for a high-end Infiniti, I’d wait for the M56 (420 hp, more conventional appearance) and pocket the $ 30,000 price difference. (Actually, I’d rather have the M37, since I’m more familiar with the VQ engine.) Pre-production models of these have actually been sighted and driven.

What do you think? Answer below!

The “r35″ is just a concept as of now.

The panamera is going to be a great car, no doubt, but if I was going to drop the cash on one…I’d rather take a Carrera S….screw the 4 doors. if you have that much money to blow, buy a FUN 2door car, and a Honda Civic 4 door for moving the kids around.

The Porsche Panamera turbo is an amazing machine. The turbo, all wheel drive model is a rocket, and easily has the nicest interior I have ever seen in a production vehicle! It handles well, and carries the prestige of the Porsche name, along with the slow depreciation…. Easy choice… For me anyhow.

I wrote an Answer comparing the Panamera(s) to other high performance sedans a few months ago. It’s hard to compare to something that’s paper only, but here’s my comparison to actual autos on the roads today:

    Panamera S – 400 HP, 3968 lb, 9.92 lb/HP, 0 to 60 5.2 sec, $ 89,800; Panamers 4S (all wheel) – 400 HP, 4101 lb, 10.25 lb/HP, 0 to 60 4.8 sec, $ 93,800; Panamera Turbo (all wheel) – 500 HP, 4343 lb, 8.69 lb/HP, 0 to 60 4.0 sec, $ 132,000. All are 4.8 litre V8 engine.

    S65 AMG Mercedes (V12 @ 612 HP, ~5,000lb, 8.17 lb/HP, 0 to 60 “just over 4.0 sec,” $ 190,000). The Bentley Flying Spur (6.0 litre twin turbo W12, 552 HP, 5379 lb, 9.74 lb/HP, 0 to 60 4.9 sec, $ 191,000), and possibly some Rolls Royces. Aston Martin Rapide (V12 @ 470 HP, 4299 lb, 9.15 lb/HP, 0 to 62 [100 kph] 5.1 sec, $ 260,000. Maserati Quattroporte Sport GT S (4.7 litre V8, 433 HP, 4144 lb, 9.57 lb/HP, 0 to 60 5.1 sec, ~$ 110,000).

    Also, Cadillac CTS-V (6.2 litre V8, 556 HP, 4222 lb, 7.59 lb/HP, 0 to 60 3.9 sec, $ 60,720). Audi S8 ( 6.0 litre W12, 450 HP, 4586 lb, 10.19 lb/HP, 0 to 60 5.0 sec, $ 96,200). BMW M5 (V10, 500 HP, 4012 lb, 8.02 lb/HP, 0 to 60 4.5 sec, $ 89,500).

ONLY the biggest Mercedes and the Cadillac (yep, Cadillac) can compete with the Panamera Turbo for straight line acceleration. The extremely heavy (and expensive) Mercedes cannot compete with the comparitively lithe Panamera in the corners. The Cadillac may also wallow in the turns due to its higher center of gravity, although I hear it runs damn well on the ‘ring.’

All of the other cars are left in the dust by these three super sedans. All three are faster from 0 to 60 mph than the original Lamborghini Diablo!

    The Porsche of course.
