My 1996 Hyundai Elantra won’t start. Looking around the Coil Packs, I see a dangling wire. Its a green wire that plugs into something. My question is…where does that wire go? Can somebody help me to locate a wiring diagram for that area of the engine compartment? Any help would be much appreciated.

you can go to most parts store, like advanced auto, or auto zone and get a service manual from chiltons for like 20-40 bucks and it’ll cover all sorts of things for your car, also some auto shops like ours use a program called all data and sometime we will print out wiring diagrams for people who ask. but the parts stores will most likely be able to pull one up for you , look around for a plug with no wires on it as well, hope this helps

Well, the primary needs to be a heavy gauge wire, as it may have to handle quite a bit of current. Voltage rating on the insulation isn’t terribly important, as the voltage is relatively low on the primary, and is often separated from the secondary by an air gap. For the secondary, you obviously need cables rated for high voltage if you are actually going to attach them to the output. If other factors aren’t important (Size of the cable, cost, etc.), go with higher rated cables. The main reason for the rating is the insulation. If you use typical low voltage wire, and the wire gets close to something metallic, it can arc right through the insulation. 10KV is relatively low for a Tesla coil. You can actually get much more out of an automotive ignition coil. You can also use ignition wires on the output of your coil, but be aware that most modern cables are ‘suppression’ cables, and have a high resistance to help eliminate ignition noise in car radios. Get the stranded metal ignition cables if you go that route.
You can also find HV cables on ebay. Just search for high voltage cables.

Well, now that his departure from McLaren is official, there are suggestions that he’s applied for a job as a campanologist in Switzerland, a country known for its many bovine exponents in the art of campanology.
However, I believe he’ll probably sign with David Richards’ Prodrive team, the one that was supposed to contest the 2008 Formula One championship, but it looks like there will be no F1 Prodrive effort, at least not next year.
He’ll be assured the No. 1 status, he’ll be at liberty to send text messages all over the place and if he rips any doors off lockers, I’m sure a Welsh carpenter will be on hand to repair the damage.
Now it appears good old Flavio has, or is about to make an offer that would see him back at Renault; the sticking point may be the length of the contract – Alonso wants a one-year contract and Flav is insisting on at least a two-year stay.
By the way, is there anyone else out there called Flavio? I’ve never personally met another Flavio except that frizzy-haired man from Verzuolo.
As for a replacement, perhaps Ron Dennis should consider Gary Paffett, the team test driver or take a chance on someone such as Adam Carroll or Mike Conway.
If Mercedes and Norbert Haug insist on a young German driver, Michael Ammermüller might get some consideration. However, like Carroll and Conway, I don’t think he’s done any F1 testing.
