Why do luxury car dealers treat “unprofessional looking” like they’re wasting time?
Question by : Why do luxury car dealers treat “unprofessional looking” like they’re wasting time?
I went to a Porsche dealer just to look at cars and a white lamborghini gallardo appears and a guy wearing sweatpants and a white t-shirt comes out of that car and heads in my direction, appears he also walks into the Porsche dealership. So i see the guy is eyeing the black on black porsche GTS (sticker price around $ 117,000) 3 dealers there and it’s a small place and he’s completely ignored. Another guy wearing a suit looking at the Panamera is talking to 2 dealers. The lambo guy clearly is showing interest and is calling for a dealer and the dealer comes to him and keeps reminding him how much the car costs. Just because the guy wasn’t dressed in a suit the dealer probably thought he can’t afford it. Why is this happening? If the dealer would see this guy pull up in his lamborghini he’d get different treatment. But why is the lambo driver being ignored in sweatpants and a tshirt yet the guy who ended up NOT buying the Panamera received attention by 2 dealers?

It’s all appearence to these guys. They all work purely on comission, so they wont waste their time on someone they don’t think will actually buy a car. It’s their loss.
