2002 Hyundai Elantra GLS
A the same time that left right flashers stop working my rpm goes from 1000 (2 mph) to 3200 (60 mph) without a gear change. Emergency light does work. I checked trans fluid libel, color, flasher relay; seam fine.

sounds like electrical issue and not the transmission itself.ATRA.COM find local shop and go from there

Yesterday my check engine light went on on my 2002 hyundai elantra. Yet, the car still drives fine and I don’t see if anything is wrong with it. I checked the gas cap and it was secure. Is it safe for me to drive it around for a little bit around town before I take it to the mechanic?

If you’re not experiencing any problems then it should be safe to drive but I would scan the light ASAP. You don’t have to go to the mechanic to get a scan. If you have an Autozone near by they will check it for free. They will give you a print out of the code.

The spark plugs that are in it should be platinum plugs. You can get between 80 and 100k miles out of them. Don’t replace with something cheaper like resistor plugs. Go with what is recommended. They aren’t that much more. And when you do replace the plugs, do the whole tune up. Cap and rotor if applicable, wires, pcv filter and air.
