Lotus Elise Review – Kelley Blue Book

FOR MORE CAR VIDEOS & REVIEWS CHECK OUT www.kbb.com Lotus Elise. In recent years a war of escalation has seen horsepower figures in performance cars climb to stratospheric levels. But like most things in life theres more than one way to solve a problem. From its earliest days the Lotus brand has argued that fast cars should be small and light, not heavy and overpowered. A perfect embodiment of that concept is the Lotus Elise. A cramped, sparsely equipped sports car made of aluminum and fiberglass may not be everybodys idea of perfection but theres no denying those attributes pay huge dividends in terms of performance. • superchase08:

    why would they review this car as a “Cruise car”? this is a performance and a damn good one!

  • HoboHunterz:

    @number9ninja yeah right.

  • F3RALIC:

    robotic wasp??? wat is this guy smoking?

  • Merts478:

    CAn you adjust the seat forward or vice-versa? i’m short. im only 5’6.

  • DrinkerofBeer09:

    @joelopeztube Depends on the accident. Bigger and heavier vehicles carry more momentum, which can make an accident worse. Lightweight cars usually have the disadvantage in passive safety, but excel in active safety….

  • number9ninja:

    id like to see a colour that the elise doesn’t wear brilliantly

  • number9ninja:

    @kbb come to think of it itd have to be if they wanted it to be lite wouldn’t it?

  • kbb:

    @JasonJ25 Yes, it has a six-speed close-ratio manual transmission with clutch.

  • JasonJ25:

    Does this car have a clutch?

  • joelopeztube:

    this car is cool, but imagine an accident in this….no difference to a motorcycle or worse!!! the car becomes a coffin.

  • paizzaeater:

    i got a booner when i saw this car for first time in a parking lot

  • MsNurseBelle:

    i have a red lottus elise and i luv it………to me i think its a wonderful car even though you cant put that much storage but i can get in it just fine and im not short at all but i got a hummer for a secondary car for wheather……also i never knew if hummers where good in wheather but when i drive it it does fine on snow, rain, and sleet, but i didnt watch the whole video cuz i got bored

  • simonlesorcier:

    bravo Elise!

  • RnB123100:

    @srspower yea.but the problem is u cant really live with and elise.its not practical.i perfer 2 have a fast and practical car.i know what power to rate is.example a gumpert appolo has300hp less than a veyron but would beat it on any track.

  • srspower:

    @RnB123100

    No it doesn’t. Like i said your confusing power with performance.

    A mustang or a 370z might be lots quicker in a straight line but the elise would beat either of them by several seconds around any track you care to name.

  • RnB123100:

    @srspower yea it does,lok up its 1/4mile.anyway know id take the new 5.0 mustand.it handles just as good as a 370z jet is faster in a strait line.

  • srspower:

    @RnB123100

    You mean power to wieght, the 370z has nowhere near the performance.

  • srspower:

    @raul1794

    Lol! are you serious? Why on earth would you want a automatic box in an elise? And why would lotus fit one?

  • raul1794:

    Are all the lotus elise mecanical cars or are there any atomatic model

  • NERD585:

    @cernuous you can get a used one for like 25-30k….

  • cernuous:

    Priced between $47,250.00 to $74,995.00 the Elise is no bargain. For my money the Chevrolet Corvette is a far better alternative.

  • cernuous:

    @Dazzeel, Please try to be objective. The Toyota 1.8 liter engine utilized by the Lotus Elise needs to be revved high to deliver real punch. Once past cornering limits the car is very hard to control. You also have to endure a harsh noisy ride, a tight austere interior, a clunky shifter and very difficult cabin access. The canvas top is a total nuisance to fold. All of this is contained within an automobile assembled with remarkable crudity.

  • Dazzeel:

    @allah211
    Thankyou, i will always love this car no matter how people treat it. Its fast, cheap and nice looking. And its small! So it could be easier to drive!!!!!!!!!!!!
