I think this is a great way to compare performance. Just because a car hits 60 faster then the other, doesn’t say which is faster. I think aero-dynamics, power to weight ratio, etc. is a cool way to compare real world performance.
and 50km/hr -270km/hr race is shit for the lambo, the 1st gear in the gallardo se only goes to 70 before it shifts (seen in the video aswell), the M5 was already in 2nd (m5 was in it’s sweet spot already, gallardo wasn’t) gallardos sweet spot is a standing start @ 0km/hr or 70km/hr in 2nd gear.

And what is this “racing from a dig isn’t as good a comparrison”? If you a purely testing engine power in a straight line well yes, but for every other reason imagineable a standing start is a real test of how the car as a whole transfers the engine power to the road, throw in a corner or two and watch the gallardo go into a league of it’s own. After all real car enthusiaists admire both cars and admire all aspects of a car.

Whatever you guys need to tell yourself that the M5 is faster than a Gallardo is fine with me. Just don’t try to tell the rest of the world that your comparison is not biased. Racing from a dig is not a good comparion? All races start at a stand still? Except on this sight where the BMW starts numerous car lenghts ahead of everyone and declares victory. You wont do the dig because you know the Gallardo would destroy the M5.
