GOD, I’m so mad I need help? 10 points!?
Question by Steven Hutton: GOD, I’m so mad I need help? 10 points!?
My dad just got me a brand new Porsche Panamera 4…I only had about 500 miles on it then I did something REALLY stupid…
I scraped the bottom bumper…It’s not visible unless you get on the ground and look directly at the upper bumper…BUT GOD!!! I don’t know what to do…I tried so hard an UH!!
Once again its not visible just by looking at it….
Is there any way I could get rid of the scratch feeling from underneath the car…I’m trying to keep it as new as possible…My dad already told me he knew cause he heard it while I was moving and simple said its a learning lesson…
Help me, Should I go to the Porsche Dealership or Where???

the Porsche dealership will charge you an OUTRAGEOUS amount to have it fixed. Mercedes is the same way, i cost me $ 500 for an oil change once including a new air filter, and $ 600 for a new light because mine cracked. But you can take it to a local body shop or even if you know someone who is handy with vehicles and they will sand it down, buff it out and paint over it. That way at least you feel better about it. Although be careful with this, because i think it can void your warranty.

well, I wish anyone gave me a porsche. Or any car, for that matter.
Really, think about it. You scraped it already. What are the odds of scraping it again? It’s no longer new. Noone will ever see it. Wait until you want to sell it. If you think it will matter, fix it then.
Only some Porsche dealerships have their own body shops. Ask around for recommendations for the BEST body shop in town. Get estimates from two or three shops including the “best” one. If there seems to be consensus about the BEST shop, you might want to have the car repaired there, OR …
Is the bit you’ve scraped steel or a resin (plastic or poly) part? If it’s not steel, consider that it will not rust and will repair just as well in a few months as now. You need on-road experience to know how to get this car through dips and over bumps without scraping the low body work. The Answer that suggested you are likely to scrape this again may be right.
Regardless of which way you go, the car’s value when it comes time to sell is dependent on getting a top quality repair — now or later. Personally, I’d pay considerably more for a better repair than the lowest bid. In fact, I have done just that.
Body work, regardless of where you have it done, will not void your mechanical warranty.
Its paint and plastic you are dealing with here. Any reputable body shop can fix it. If you can’t see it, why fix it? Just seal it up so it doesn’t spread and don’t worry about it.
The best fix is really fine sand paper and just rub out the scratches. It works cause it’s plastic.
