Could I get an Aston Martin for a first car?

Question by lewis k: Could I get an Aston Martin for a first car?
I have always joked about this but I am rather curious if its possible to get one as a first car in the UK? Say a DB9 for argument. I personally think I wouldn’t get insured if I tried.

You could buy it and get it insured IF you had enough money.

Yes, IF you have the MONEY!

Aston Martin, with concerns of improving its overall fleet’s fuel efficiency, is (supposedly) going to release a new car called the Aston Martin Cygnet that shares its mechanicals with the tiny Toyota iQ economy car. Assuming you could get a current Aston owner to buy one for you (since the first Cygnets released will only be available to existing Aston Martin customers initially) I’m sure you’d have very little trouble getting it insured…and you’d have your Aston Martin first car… lol.

As for something like a DB9, you’d pay through the nose to get insurance for it as a young driver but as others have said, one company or another probably WOULD insure you assuming you could afford the high insurance premiums.

if you do get one do not get a vantage or a dp9 i hade them both the db9 is better than vantage and the db8 is cheaper and way better than the dp9 and if you wont to make it better or just as good you could with some extra money you would of saved

The waiting list used to be years long for a new one but don’t know it is now – there’s a few second hand specialist dealers around eg there’s one in Olney, Bucks. There’s always someone prepared to insure – at a price and a large compulsory excess.

You can but it’s a bad idea to subject a very expensive car to beginners luck.

Sure if your over 30 – I can’t see any insurance company wanting to insure a teenage driver these day if the car costs 50K, I would expect the first years premium to be around the same..plus you would get fed up of the police stopping you everytime you drove it.
